Glow Like a Goddess, Smell Like a Saint
How To Layer Body Wash, Moisturizer + Oils feat. Saltair
My collection of Saltair continues to grow.
I will admit that it did not begin out of my own volition. The brand contacted me first and offered me their Shea Soleil body oil and body butter. I said yes, which has now led me down this road to scents city where I currently dwell.
First of all, the Shea Soleil line is delicious.
The fragrance notes are Creamy Shea. Almond Milk. Smooth Vanilla. It’s like being a toasted marshmallow, like wrapping yourself in cookies and milk, like bathing in honey. And! all that without being overwhelming or sickeningly sweet. It’s such a tasty scent, and layers beautifully with anything else that has almond, vanilla, or similar notes.
Here is how you layer to get the most out of them:
Shea Soleil Serum Body Wash. A great, scented body wash that lathers well, rinses off without slickness, and leaves my skin feeling soft.
Shea Soleil Body Butter immediately after toweling off while my body is still damp.
Shea Soleil Nourishing Body Oil. And if I’m feeling extra saucy and want everyone to know that I’m here, I then finish off with a neck-down body oiling session. It’s best to oil when your skin is still damp.
Body Oiling?
Do you know when you see glistening, glimmering, gorgeous girls in the summertime who seem to have emerged into life with skin that shines? It’s not just luck and genetics.
Body oil has gone a long way to help me achieve that look. The key is to find the right body oil. I have personally loved using Saltair’s body oils because of how well they moisturize and sink in without leaving any kind of slipperiness or staining. The body oil also locks in my body butter, and makes the scent last longer. I will emerge from my shower smelling saintly, and lo and behold, follows me around all day.
As you can see, I’ve built myself quite a little collection.
That’s because scents are fun. Is there anything better than a good-smelling women? So I alternate between my scents depending on how I feel.
Oh, I need some pep in my step, a little extra excitement? It’s time for Exotic Pulp Body Oil.
Actually, I’m feeling a bit introspective today. I’d rather wrap myself in something a bit warmer, perhaps more masculine. Driftwood it is.
The Hyaluronic Acid Body Serum? Oh, well that’s for when I want that moisturizer without a scent at all. Then I can spritz on my perfume of the season (currently YSL Black Opium) and go on my merry way.
Everybody’s favorite is going to be different.
That’s the fun of scents and trying new things on yourself. What might smell heavenly on me lands a bit too sharp on you, so experiment and try different things. Also, the format of the product also changes things. For example, I got the Driftwood Body Scrub, and I just can’t stand it. I don’t know why, but it leaves an almost aftertaste in my mouth when I get out of the shower. Maybe it’s getting into the steam and I’m breathing it in, but I haven’t had a satisfactory experience with it. So, I leave that behind and move on to something else.
Medical conditions aside, taking care of your skin and body health should not be a horrible ordeal. Rather, taking care of your body should be part of self-love and ritual. Take pride in looking good, feeling good, smelling good. It will make the little things so much better.
