You Are You. A Poem.

I wrote this because I was angry with how some girl was treating me. I’m just telling you now because you’d never guess from the actual content of the poem. That’s where my head was as I furiously scribbled this down. You better hope we never get in a fight. I’m vicious, as you’ll soon read.

Snapped in London by Cedric Stout

You are you
And only you
Whether you date or you marry
There is only you who
Can account for your words
For the things that you do
It takes not three nor two
But one
And that's you.
In the end of all things
When the world is through
Will you really be ready
To ask and review?
Was I honest and true?
Do I regret, do I rue?
Be afraid of lamenting
'If only I knew!'
Now that I've said it
Let's not miscontrue
That every choice that you make
Is made by just you
Your mom and your dad
Even enemies, too
hard things in the past
That perhaps made you blue
Don't make your decisions
No one but you
So if you're kind or you're cruel
There is nobody who
Can make you do what you do
Except you.

Hope she learned her lesson.
